Hirai Miyo shares her history since birth and talks about her hobbies and life

This is the 2nd part of Hirai Miyo's Talk Event, "Harosho 1001 Nights - 69th Night" that was held on Friday, July 30th, 2021. 

The event was broadcasted live from Hello! Project Official Shop (Tokyo Akihabara Store) via a streaming service called Hello! Project's Stream for a fee. There were no live audience at the show.

Hirai Miyo Chronology 


On December 11th, 1999, Hirai Miyo was born

  • She was born 11 days later than her due date.
  • She weighed 3456g when she was born. Sometimes, her family still calls her by the nickname "Miyogoro".
  • Her cry was the loudest and her physique was the biggest in the newborn nursery room.
  • The meaning behind her name is to be like a leaf, thriving in the sun, beautifully red in autumn, and even if it withers it will be reborn again in spring.

2001 (Age 1)

  • She was a very energetic child and often fell down.
  • Very attached to her mother, a pampered child.
  • She was mistaken for a boy.
  • Often interfered with her sister's play.


2002 (Age 2)

  • Before she could speak, she was dancing to songs with her sister. 
  • She would follow her sister to her ballet class.
  • She danced to the song "Mini Hamuzu".


2003 (Age 3)

  • Started kindergarten.
  • She cried at the kindergarten’s entrance ceremony.
  • She also cried at the Shichi-Go-San festival.
  • Her classmates mistook her for a boy but she had a mysterious theory that if she tied her hair up, she would then be a girl. She had her hair tied up the next day and persuaded the kids at the kindergarten, saying "Right? I’m a girl, right?” 
  • Joined a swimming school.
  • Learned to play the electone but was extremely shy and often clung to her mother.


2004 (Age 4)

  • She practiced moving her eyebrows up and down in kindergarten. The other children started to imitate it and it became viral in the kindergarten.
  • Swimming lessons advanced too quickly she nearly drowned. It was a traumatic experience so she quit.


2005 (Age 5)

  • She was addicted to playing the hula hoop and spun it at a high speed.
  • Played as the choir in a play. 
  • Started to learn classical ballet. It was the first time she requested to do something on her own.


2006 (Age 6)

  • Started grade school.
  • She frequented the infirmary because she fell and scraped her knees so often.
  • The moment the bell rang for recess, she would run out of the classroom and head for the schoolyard.
  • She quit her electone lessons and started to learn the piano.


2007 (Age 7)

  • Performed her first ballet recital.
  • Around this time, she was said to be quite the caring person, which could also be described as meddlesome.

2008 (Age 8)

  • She was in the brass band and played the saxophone.
  • Played YUI's "TOKYO" on guitar at a class party.


2009 (Age 9)

  • Performed her second ballet recital.
  • Joined a voluntary ensemble club at grade school.


2010 (Age 10)

  • Joined the arts and crafts club.
  • Became uncomfortable with being photographed. 
  • Learned about the Takarazuka Revue.


2011 (Age 11)

  • Joined a reading club and started writing her own stories.
  • Became interested in the electronic drum set at home.
  • Graduated from grade school.


2012 (Age 12)

  • Started middle school.
  • Joined the patchwork club.
  • She was the accompanist for three consecutive years of the choir competition.


2013 (age 13)


2014 (Age 14)

  • Bought an application form to motivate herself to take the Takarazuka exam the following year.
  • Graduated from middle school.
  • Learned about Sugawara Koharu-san from a commercial.
  • Learned about Hello! Project through her older sister.


2015 (Age 15)

  • Entered high school.
  • Joined the photography club.
  • Took on the challenge of writing, directing and performing in a play at the school festival for the first time!
  • Took the entrance exam for Takarazuka but was not accepted.


2016 (Age 16)


2017 (Age 17)

  • Auditioned for Hello! Project’s 20th Anniversary New Member Audition but was not accepted again. She was invited to join “Engeki Joushibu”, but rejected the offer because she wanted to focus on her university entrance exam.
  • She took a break from ballet to prepare for the exams. Basically she spent her days at school and prep school.
  • Passed university entrance exam.


2018 (Age 18)

  • She has always wanted to dye her hair, but because she didn’t have the courage to dye her whole head, she did inner color!
  • Learned hip hop in a dance club.
  • Started to work part-time.
  • Passed the “Only You” audition. 


2019 (Age 19)

  • Started her activities as a member of BEYOOOOONDS.
  • Major debut on 7th August!
  • A miraculous two-shot with Sou Kazuho-san, the person she loves and admires very very much!!!

The latest edition of "spoon." showcases the 2022 installment of the "Idol Search" project, which spotlights idol groups who are making their first appearances. On the cover, we have SeasoningS, a trio from the group BEYOOOOONDS, who will release their second album "BEYOOOOO2NDS" on September 28th. BEYOOOOONDS consists of two other units, Ame no Mori Kawa Umi, who sings aggressive songs by Oomori Seiko, and CHICA#TETSU, who performs railway-themed idol songs and features a train enthusiast member.
